A classical Christian tutorial is a unique educational model that combines elements of homeschooling with traditional classroom instruction. At Saints Classical, students attend classes two or three days per week, receiving instruction from qualified teachers in a classroom setting. On the remaining days, students complete assigned work at home under parent supervision. This model provides the flexibility of homeschooling with the structure and community of a school environment.
Saints Classical differs from traditional schools in several key ways:
- Part-time attendance (2-3 days per week) rather than 5 days
- Parents are considered the primary educators
- Classical curriculum focusing on grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages
- Integrated biblical worldview across all subjects
- Smaller class sizes and more individualized attention
- Greater emphasis on character formation and virtue
No, parents do not need formal teaching experience. Saints Classical provides detailed lesson plans and resources for home instruction days. Our teachers communicate regularly with parents and provide guidance for home learning. We offer parent training workshops throughout the year to equip families with effective teaching strategies and classical education principles.
Our approach to discipline emphasizes virtue formation over behavior management. We aim to nurture students' character through mentoring relationships, clear expectations, and consistent accountability. Discipline is handled with grace and truth, focusing on heart transformation rather than mere compliance. We partner closely with parents to address challenges and celebrate growth in character.
While we are not equipped to provide comprehensive special education services, we work with families on a case-by-case basis to determine if our model can serve their child well. The tutorial model inherently allows for more individualized attention both in the classroom and at home. Parents of students with specific learning challenges should discuss their child's needs during the admissions process to determine if Saints Classical can provide appropriate support.
Mid-year enrollment is considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on available space and the student's academic preparation. Please contact our admissions office to discuss mid-year enrollment possibilities.
